Weekending

We had a wonderful long weekend full of a few Labor Day sales, a visit from my grandparents, a brief drive out to the country, relaxing together and some good old home cooking.

{starting to bring out the fall decor}

{because it's getting too cold to keep the plants outside overnight!}

{afternoon baking}

{homemade black bean and wild rice soup for dinner}

{pavlova with mixed berries and cream with a kick for dessert}

So, all in all, our weekend was absolutely wonderful. With the wedding a little over a month a way I think this is exactly what we needed before things start to get a little crazy (in a good way, of course).

Weekend Gardening

We had a wonderful weekend because it was the first weekend since we have moved that we were able to spend both days together at home! Nothing is painted, no photos are hung, and we still haven't put on the bed-skirt on our bed BUT we do have a back porch full of sprouting herbs, two new flower beds, and the beginnings of a giant new garden.

I am still feeling the affects of stripping a 10 X 12 ft area of sod but it will be so worth it when we have our own little sustainable and organic mini-farm! Here are a few of my favorite parts of the weekend yard work.

Weekend Wonder

This past weekend was wonderful because we didn't do much of anything outside of the house. Not to mention Em made us breakfast. There is something that makes pancakes taste even better when they are in shapes.
