Happy Valentines Day!
Here's a sneak peak of a few valentines we made over at Casa Shrock-Mannies! I am a huge Golden Girls fan so I naturally had to incorporate these truly fantastic graphics when I saw them on CRAFT. I sent a few out in small packages old-school style with fun, festive erasers, pencils and yes- temporary tattoos. It was a throw-back kind of holiday.
I also made the cake at the top of the post to take in and share with my co-workers, just to make sure everyone is properly sugar buzzed for the day. I used a boxed Red Velvet Cake mix (because you know I love the pre-mixes!) and then topped it off with this frosting recipe from Savory Sweet Life but added a little cinnamon and cayenne for some kick. To add the glittery heart I just took a heart-shaped cookie cutter and placed it on the cake. From there I just shook the sprinkles inside the heart and gently smoothed it down with my finger tips. So very easy.
And just for kicks- here are the flowers Ben got me!
Whether you are celebrating shared love, self love or just the fact that love exists, I hope you have a wonderful Valentines Day! Crack open the chocolate hearts, pour the bubbly and enjoy today!
