Holiday Snuggle Up Series: Catch your favorite holiday TV and snuggle up with the perfect snack

One of my favorite ways to wind down  during the holiday season is to grab a snack and catch one of my favorite Christmas classics on TV. This December, I'll be posting a guide to some of the best loved Christmas television that comes but once a year in the Romantic Hippie Holiday Snuggle Up Series. In addition to times and channels, I've also popped in a few snack recipes to pair with your viewing! So grab a snack and your remote and prepare to snuggle up to one of the most relaxing and comforting Christmas traditions!

Here's the line-up for this week:

Christmas In Rockefeller Center 2010 NBC Nov 30, 8:00PM

Rudolph The Rednosed Reindeer CBS Nov 30, 8:00PM
There is nothing more classic than some good old Rudolph claymation so why not pair this with one of the most traditional holiday snacks out there- Sugar Cookies! Try this recipe that adds some yuletide spice to a beloved classic from Annie’s Eats!

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966) ABC Nov 30, 8:00 PM
For kids and kids at heart- check out this great interactive Seussville site with lots of fun activities to keep little ones busy while whipping up snacks and wrapping gifts! OK, so this isn't food- but it's fun!

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York ABCFAM Nov 30, 8:30PM

It's A Wonderful Life NBC Nov 30, 9:00PM
This is one of B and I’s favorite movies to watch together this time of year. It’s a longer one so you might want to pair it with the Bacon Cashew Caramel Corn I recently posted. That way, you have a variety of ingredients working together to keep your taste-buds from getting distracted.

2010 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show CBS Nov 30, 10:00PM
In honor of the racier side of Christmas Consumerism, try this Spicy Almond recipe. It’s also pretty healthy too so you feel a little better about watching half-naked super models. If you care…which you shouldn’t.

Lots of Suess:

Dr. Seuss on the Loose ABCFAM Dec 1, 6:00PM

Dr. Seuss' The Lorax ABCFAM Dec 1, 6:30PM
I’m not sure if The Lorax is especially Christmasy but it is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books due to the great environmental message! To go along with the theme- here is a great granola recipe that uses cranberries. Because those are holiday-ish, right?

Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat ABCFAM Dec 1, 7:00PM

Dr. Seuss' The Grinch Grinches The Cat in the Hat ABCFAM Dec 1, 7:30PM

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas ABCFAM Dec 1, 8:00PM & 10:00PM

A Flintstone Christmas ABCFAM Dec 2, 6:00PM

The Santa Clause ABCFAM Dec 2, 7:00PM & 9:00PM
Gingerbread cookies are the first cookies that I ever make during the holiday season. In fact, I already have a batch in our cookie jar! I follow the recipe from Betty Crocker herself.

Santa Claus is Comin' to Town ABC Dec 2, 8:00PM

Scrooged AMC Dec 2, 8:00PM & 10:00PM

The Polar Express ABCFAM Dec 3, 6:00PM  8:30PM
Murphy Hot Chocolate (courtesy of the Murphy family cookbook)
7-8 Cups Water, 1 Cup White Sugar, 2 TB Cocoa, 3 Cans Evaporated Milk
Bring water to a boil, add sugar and cocoa then evaporated milk. Stir and serve!

The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation ABCFAM Dec 4, 7:00AM
Dogs and snacks? This calls for puppy chow. It’s an oldie but a goodie- here’s a good how-to.

A Christmas Carol (1938) TCM Dec 4, 9:00AM

Surviving Christmas TBS Dec 4, 1:30PM

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas ABCFAM Dec 4, 11:00PM

Because of the devilish twist on this Christmas flick, I picked Martha’s recipe for  Devil’s on   Horseback that she made with Joan Rivers on her show. It takes a little more prep time but they are worth every morsel.
