It just dawned on me that I hadn't shared any of our Halloween decorations. All of which took very little time to put together and used materials I already had!
To create something more festive in our entryway I decided to try and cover the chunky mirror above our chest. All I did was take the mirror down, wrap it (using tape carefully) with black paper and used chalk to sketch a web. Here's the before and after:
Can't wait until our walls are painted! Before. |
And the after! |
For the mantle I used things we had around the house, bought the orange candles on clearance for $1.99 each and bought the candelabra for .75 at a work rummage sale. The candelabra used to be silver but that changed with a quick coat of spray paint. I'm a "Mantle of the Month" kind of person, so I like to switch it up a lot but I think the garland will stay up through November.
We ended up with some extra straw from our party so I just set it up on the front porch with the pumpkins we picked up a couple weeks ago.
Aaand a close-up! Hopefully, we'll have these bad boys carved soon. I'll be sure to report back!
I also whipped up a little project using printables that I found on Pinterest. I simply printed them and cut them out, then let them soak in some tea steeped water. After the labels were dry I stuck them onto a few random glass bottles I had. Again, super easy!
So, there you have it. A few easy decorating tips from around our home. Hope you have a spooky Halloween!
