A few months ago, Ben and I stopped by Goodwill to see if there were any promising pieces that could be fashioned or restored into a lamp. While we didn't find the lamp, I found these two nifty pieces. The first is my new mail sorter. I thought it added a cool rococo touch to my desk. After a quick polish it was ready to go.
The second was this lovely little mirror. I'm pretty stoked that the mirror was already included because often you can usually only find thrifted frames like this and have to buy and add a mirror later. A great bonus, no? For a while, I envisioned painting the frame a different color but I love keeping our office/guest room white because of the way it fills with natural light, so I decided I'd give the new mirror a go in it's natural state. So far so good!
I don't think I paid more than eight bucks for both items combined, which isn't half bad at all. In addition, thrifting is a great way too keep things green by recycling someone else's old junk into something beautiful for your home!
